The time is 1840,
New Mexico is an autonomous yet restive region of Mexico following the war of independence almost 20 years before.
With growing economic ties with the US, the regions adoption is only a few years away as a territory.
From above, the land is green and alive, The sun's reflection has turned the Rio Grande into a shimmering ribbon that winds its way down the center of the state, passing villages, pueblos, and towns on its1,896 mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico.
It is during this time that a small auxiliary parish of the greater Our Lady of Guadalupe that our focus finds itself.
It is here where the chapel of Santo Tomas.
It is here where our story starts.
It is here where the Legend of the Six-Gun Nun is born from smoke and flame.
